My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 322 One Man Down

<This match just took an interesting turn>

\'So, you like conflict and violence, huh.\'

<Who said anything about violence? I just love it when things get heated up like this between teams, violence doesn\'t have to be involved>

\'You know violence is always a ground for these kinds of things.\'

<Yeah, but the teammates and referee always step up before anything bad happens so the violence isn\'t that much>

Dave didn\'t reply to her as he quickly closed up on the ball and sent it flying into the pitch.

<I have a feeling someone\'s going to make a mistake with what just happened>

\'Huh?\'

<I meant that someone might get a red card and get sent off>

\'Red card? From our team or theirs?\' The goalkeeper subconsciously.

<Either one>

\'Either one? I sure hope it isn\'t ours, if that happens, we may end up losing this match.

The ball was sent flying toward Minino who caught hold of it and passed it to Ferran before the player close to him could get closer.

"Ferran."

Ferran pushed the ball back to Martinez who pushed forward with a little before pushing it to Mateo on the left.

"Mateo."

Mateo wriggled his way past Jamie before he found Ferran making a run toward the box and quickly sent the ball rolling to him.

"Mateo doing what he does best," Jim said.

Ferran wasn\'t able to get through as his path was suddenly blocked so he shifted the ball to Minino who sent it rolling back to Mateo on the left.

Jamie didn\'t want to let go of the winger but he was getting humiliated here.

After that backheel nutmeg the winger used to get past him earlier in the game, he had been man-marking him not knowing that he was signing up for more humiliation that would end up as tik tok edits in favor of the winger later today.

The winger dragged the ball to the edge of the line and waited for him to get close before he got it past him with an overhead kick and continued down the wing.

"Mateo is having fun humiliating Jamie here today, not sure if Jaime is enjoying it too," Steve said.

It was now time for him to face Danilo once again today.

He still had Felix\'s words about Danilo being able to injure him in mind but he had not been afraid to face the left back.

Getting past him wasn\'t certainly wasn\'t as easy as getting past Jaime.

He had only managed to get past him with a dribble only once so far in the match.

Getting past him with passes was easier so he decided to use that but now, he was going to attempt dribbling past him because he just felt like it.

Danilo stretched his leg to try and stop him and that was just the opening he needed to make his move.

He moved a little to the right with the ball before he put it past the left back through his legs and quickly zoomed to the other side to receive it.

"He\'s through, this could be their chance to do something."

Unfortunately, before the winger could do anything with the ball, the left back viciously slid toward him, and as if that wasn\'t enough, he grabbed him on his shirt and pulled him down backward when he was already falling forward.

"No, no, that is a terrible challenge."

There was no debate about that as the referee quickly rushed to the area and showed the left back a straight red card while Mateo was still on the floor with his hands on his feet, he was in a lot of pain.

"It\'s a straight red card for Danilo."

Felix along with three of his teammates quickly headed to the referee and at the same time, Minino headed to the area to listen to what they were going to say.

It looked like something was going to spark up between him and Felix again as the two glared at each other until the referee walked away from them.

"Things aren\'t looking good for Spree City, they\'re one man down with the first half almost coming to an end but he might have succeeded with something if Mateo who has been Unique FC\'s main man in this match is unable to continue." Steve expressed.

"Well, we\'re about to find out."

After getting attention from the medical team for a couple of minutes, the winger was able to slowly get up from the floor.

"Looks like he failed that mission because Mateo Smith, he\'s limping a bit but that\'s normal," Jim said.

"Yeah, they\'re lucky that didn\'t happen inside the box or it would have been a double blow to them," Steve said.

"Are you sure you can continue?" Ferran got closer to the winger to ask.

"Yeah." He replied before stomping both of his feet on the ground.

\'I guess that was the red card you were talking about.\' Dave said subconsciously with his arms crossed.

<Yeah, but I was expecting it to happen during the first minutes of the second half at least>

\'Yeah, it happened pretty fast, I\'m just glad that it wasn\'t against us and that Mateo is able to continue after that terrible challenge.\'

"Mateo\'s still limping so it looks like Ferran\'s going to be the one to take the free-kick," Jim said.

Ferran was standing over the ball now with his gaze on Spree City\'s four-man wall which was formed right inside the eighteen-yard box.

After making sure that everything was ready and nothing suspicious was going on inside the box, the referee blew his whistle.

"The match had just entered the forty-third minute, could this be Unique FC\'s chance to open the scoreline before the halftime break?"

Ferran took two steps backward before he quickly closed up on the ball and sent it flying toward the goalpost but his effort ended up hitting the wall.

"It ran into the wall."

Mateo was right there to pick up the ball before the defender heading toward it could get to it, and with a roulette spin, he got past the defender with three more in front of him.

"Mateo takes on one, two, three can he go all the way."

It looked unreal as the winger got past four defenders with the ball, and just before the ones from the sides could get to him with their slides, he sent the ball rolling toward the right side of the goalpost.

The goalkeeper dived toward it, but he wasn\'t able to get to it as the ball ended up hitting the post before rolling into the goalpost.

"It\'s in! The deadlock has finally been broken and who else would it be other than Unique FC\'s magician!"

Ferran didn\'t even wait for the winger to make a move before he quickly got to him and lifted him.

"Magnificent work and strike from Mateo Smith, what a player, he had brilliant moments last season but he is showing everyone what he can truly do this season." Steve expressed.

"Wow," Dave muttered as he slowly shook his head with a smile on his face.

"With that goal, Mateo Smith now holds the record for the longest scoring streak in the Bilbeth Premier League having now scored in seven consecutive games."
